When I’m not buying the loveliest of hand-dyed and hand-spun yarns, I often make my yarn purchases from KnitPicks. I’ve been buying their yarn for a few years now, back when I was learning to knit, and I really like their quality.

Recently KnitPicks released a new line of super bulky yarn called Tuff Puff. This is a slightly twisted wool roving, so it’s thinner then a handmade wool roving, but it still has that roving look. When I first saw this yarn, it was all the colorful options that really got me excited. If you’ve been reading my blog for a while you know I love colors, and these yarns come in some really fun colors. –Swoon- And I didn’t even get all the colors they have available.
A super bulky yarn, like this one, also adds a nice texture to my weaves. I love weaving this next to a worsted weight yarn, because the difference in size is a really nice compliment. I can’t wait to start weaving with these yarns (and I really need to, because my yarn stash is getting out of control, yikes!)
Do you like to use bright colors in your weaves too, or do you prefer a more muted palette? Also do you have any good yarn recommendations? I would love to hear about any wishlist worthy items you have come across.
If you’re looking for more yarns I love, here are some previous wishlist posts I’ve had:
- Serene Fiber Arts Yarn – handmade yarns!
- Hedgehog Fibres – handmade yarns!
- My favorite warp thread
- Patons wool roving
