Creative Links to tryWe’re all here because we have an interest in weaving, but sometimes you need to shake things up creatively. Trying something different can help boost your ideas and get your mind going in a new direction.

I’m sharing some projects that I’ve come across recently that would be a really fun creative break. Oh and since I love to play around with paint as a creative outlet every now and then, I decided to draw and paint a preview of each project. • I also wanted to share the DIY faux Wildflower Wreath by aprettyfix.com I was late on coming across this wreath, seeing as summer is past it’s halfway mark, but I could knock it out on a weekend and enjoy it for a few more weeks. Also the fact that it uses fake flowers is a huge bonus, the wreath can be stored until Spring! Take a look at this wreath, because these fake flowers seriously they look pretty darn good!
  • Lastly I wanted to share this DIY Triangle Mirror by diyinpdx.com I’m a sucker for clean geometric lines. I know, it doesn’t seem believable to me either, you know how organic my weaves get. But I love to mix clean lines with organic shapes and this triangle mirror would look so good in my house, especially hanging near a weave!

Ok I’ll stop there, because we also need time to weave! As I shared above, my go to break from weaving is playing around with paints. I really love the quickness and flexibility it gives me that weaving sometimes can’t. Also I can play around with it for a day and then be done, no on-going project, just a nice mental break. I’ve also painted a design or two that I later loosely translated into a weave. Now I want to know what your go to break from weaving is and why it helps?
